Rights and responsibilities when you upload photos, generate artwork, or order a personalized ZuZuPal.

Last updated — October 8, 2026

This Creative Rights & Customer Content Policy explains the rights and responsibilities that apply when you upload photos, generate artwork, or order personalized products from ZuZuPal (“ZuZuPal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

This policy forms part of our Terms of Service. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Questions about this policy can be sent to hi@zuzupal.com.

1. Customer Content

“Customer Content” means any material you submit, upload, input, or otherwise provide to ZuZuPal, including photographs, images, text, logos, character depictions, artwork, design preferences, prompts, customization instructions, comments, and photographs of finished products.

By submitting Customer Content, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the content or have obtained the rights, licenses, consents, and authorizations necessary to submit it and use it for the requested services.
  • You have permission to authorize ZuZuPal to process the content, generate artwork from it, and manufacture the products you request.
  • If you submit content on behalf of another person, business, brand, or client, you have authorization to do so.
  • You have the necessary permissions to use the likenesses of people shown in submitted photos, including appropriate parent or legal guardian authorization for children.
  • Your content and requested designs do not infringe or otherwise violate another person’s intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.
  • Your submissions and requested uses comply with applicable law and our Terms of Service.

A photo may involve rights belonging to both the photographer and the people pictured. Permission from one does not necessarily establish permission from the other.

Content being available online, credited to its creator, included in a product you purchased, or intended for personal use does not, by itself, give you permission to reproduce, adapt, manufacture, distribute, or publish it.

2. AI-Assisted Artwork

ZuZuPal may use AI tools and other design technologies to transform Customer Content into personalized previews and production artwork.

“Generated Artwork” means the previews, designs, illustrations, and other creative outputs produced through these features.

Generated Artwork is a stylized interpretation of your inputs. It may not perfectly reproduce faces, hairstyles, clothing, markings, poses, or other details. Results may also resemble artwork generated for other customers.

The finished product may differ from its digital preview because of screen settings, printing, materials, dimensions, cutting, and other production factors.

Please review your selected design carefully before approving it or placing an order.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, ZuZuPal does not guarantee that Generated Artwork is original, unique, exclusive, eligible for intellectual-property protection, or free of third-party rights.

These limitations do not remove rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights relating to defective or misdescribed products.

3. Ownership of Your Content

As between you and ZuZuPal, you retain the rights you lawfully hold in your Customer Content.

Uploading a photo does not transfer ownership of that photo to ZuZuPal.

Generated Artwork may contain your original content, AI-generated elements, ZuZuPal-created elements, or material subject to third-party rights. Your permitted use of Generated Artwork is governed by this policy, applicable law, and any separate written agreement.

The creation or delivery of Generated Artwork does not grant rights in another person’s protected content. For example, generating a design containing an unlicensed character or logo does not give you ownership of, or permission to use, that character or logo.

4. Personal Use of Artwork and Products

Unless a product description or separate written agreement expressly allows otherwise, Generated Artwork and personalized products purchased through ZuZuPal are provided for personal, non-commercial use.

Permitted personal uses include:

  • Displaying your purchased standee at home.
  • Giving a purchased product as a personal gift.
  • Sharing photographs of your finished product on personal social media accounts.
  • Sharing a preview through any sharing feature ZuZuPal makes available.

These permissions remain subject to any rights belonging to other people and any restrictions disclosed for a particular product.

Sharing a photograph of your product does not authorize others to reproduce or commercially exploit the design.

5. Commercial Use and Third-Party Production

Without ZuZuPal’s prior written approval, you may not use Generated Artwork supplied through our Services to:

  • Manufacture or mass-produce merchandise.
  • Sell products, digital downloads, or reproductions.
  • License or sublicense designs.
  • Create merchandise for business promotion.
  • Supply production artwork to another manufacturer.
  • Commission third-party production.
  • Distribute design files for others to reproduce or commercially exploit.

To request commercial-use permission, contact hi@zuzupal.com. Any approval will specify its scope, including permitted products, quantities, channels, duration, and other conditions.

ZuZuPal’s approval does not replace any permission needed from third-party rights holders.

These restrictions do not prevent you from using your own original photos or other independently owned content outside ZuZuPal. They apply to Generated Artwork supplied through our Services, not to rights you already hold independently.

6. Permission Needed to Provide Your Order

You grant ZuZuPal a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to receive, host, store, reproduce, process, modify, adapt, and transmit Customer Content and Generated Artwork as reasonably necessary to:

  • Generate and display your previews.
  • Save designs and operate your gallery.
  • Prepare artwork for printing and manufacturing.
  • Produce and deliver your personalized products.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Provide support, replacements, and other order-related services.
  • Protect the security of the Services and address misuse.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

This license lasts only for the period reasonably necessary for those purposes, consistent with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

ZuZuPal may permit relevant technology, storage, manufacturing, fulfillment, and other service providers to exercise these rights to the extent necessary to perform those functions.

This order-processing license does not, by itself, authorize public advertising use of your photos or personalized artwork.

Any use of Customer Content or Generated Artwork for AI-model training or other additional purposes must be separately and accurately disclosed in our Privacy Policy, with consent obtained where required. This policy does not itself grant permission for those additional uses.

7. Public Sharing and Promotional Use

Generating artwork, saving it to your gallery, or placing an order does not, by itself, grant ZuZuPal permission to use your photos or personalized artwork in public advertising.

If you separately authorize public display or promotional use, you grant ZuZuPal a nonexclusive, royalty-free license limited to the content, purposes, channels, and duration covered by that authorization.

For example, permission to display artwork in a public community gallery does not automatically include permission to use it in paid advertisements.

Within the permission you provide, ZuZuPal may make reasonable presentation changes such as cropping, resizing, formatting, or compressing an image, provided those changes do not materially misrepresent your content.

You may contact hi@zuzupal.com to request that we stop future promotional use and remove content from channels we control, subject to the applicable permission terms and legal requirements. We may be unable to retrieve printed materials already distributed or copies independently shared by others.

Before making content public, confirm that you have the necessary permission from the people pictured and other relevant rights holders.

Publicly shared content may be copied or reposted by others. This notice does not grant those third parties permission to use your content.

8. ZuZuPal’s Platform Rights

ZuZuPal and its licensors retain their respective rights in the website, branding, software, interfaces, templates, technology, and other platform materials.

Using ZuZuPal or purchasing a personalized product does not transfer ownership of those materials to you.

Your use of the Services does not create a partnership, agency, employment, or other similar relationship with ZuZuPal, and does not imply endorsement by ZuZuPal or any third-party brand or rights holder.

9. Digital and Production Files

Unless expressly included in a product description or separate written agreement, purchasing a personalized product does not include delivery of editable artwork, source files, high-resolution production files, cutting files, or other manufacturing-ready materials.

If ZuZuPal provides a digital file, its permitted uses are governed by the accompanying product description, license, and these terms.

Access to a preview does not, by itself, grant permission to extract or use it for third-party manufacturing.

10. Third-Party Protected Content

Unless you have the necessary authorization or another lawful basis, do not submit or request designs containing protected third-party material, including:

  • Characters or artwork from films, television, games, comics, books, or animation.
  • Brand names, trademarks, logos, or mascots.
  • Another person’s photographs, illustrations, or designs.
  • A person’s likeness or identifiable characteristics where permission is required.
  • Unlicensed fonts, internet images, or other creative assets.

The ability to upload content or generate a preview does not mean ZuZuPal has verified that the content is authorized or obtained permission on your behalf.

You remain responsible for ensuring that your requested use is lawful.

11. Content Review and Enforcement

Where reasonably necessary and permitted by law, ZuZuPal may review submissions, request evidence of authorization, refuse generation or production, remove content, restrict access, or suspend an account.

We may also cancel an order where fulfilling it would violate applicable law, third-party rights, or our policies. Related payments will be handled according to applicable law and our refund and cancellation policies.

A decision not to review or remove content is not a representation that the content is lawful or authorized.

12. Reporting a Rights Concern

If you believe content available through ZuZuPal violates your rights, email hi@zuzupal.com with:

  • Your name and contact information.
  • Identification of the content at issue and its location, if available.
  • A description of the rights you own or are authorized to represent.
  • An explanation of the alleged violation.
  • Relevant supporting information.

We may request additional information to evaluate the concern and take appropriate action.

13. Changes and Contact

We may update this policy as our Services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with an updated date and provide additional notice or obtain agreement where required.

Questions, commercial-use requests, and rights concerns should be sent to:
